What a Great Gift!

I don't normally do this, however, I am a sales person and when I find something or someplace I love, I have to tell.....me tell imagine that?????.... TJ MAXX, ALDI, BIG LOTS, just to name a few...

Well Sloan received this adorable early birthday gift from our dear friends, The Milano's and it's from this site. It is a personalized growth chart with all of our immediate family's heights on one side as well as some fabulous rock/movie stars (see pic above) and their heights on the other.... leave it up to my fashionable friend Mollie to have found this amazing gift. I will say, this is one worth copying for that special someone. Check it out!  To date: Sloan is 2 feet and 2 inches tall!

Thanks again Molls, we love it and will cherish it forever!!

We did it!!

We ran the St. Louis 1/2 Marathon in the pouring rain!!!!  What a unbelievable day, the puddles, the wetsuits or speedos, the gallons of gatorade and the screaming fans all helped in "the experience".  Aaron and I both accomplished our goals.  Remember the post that committed us to this race?  What did  I say? Yes, Aaron didn't train but about 2 runs and of course, did amazing !!! He makes me so proud!!!

He finished in 1 hour and 47 minutes and I trailed behind him at 1 hour and 52 minutes.

What helped me get thru each mile was thinking about all my family and friends.  Seriously, I dedicated each mile as I ran along to thinking about that person; I had several smiles, some tears and boy was it uplifting!  It truly helped, so thanks for the support!!!

The kiddos spent the night with CC and DD..... had a blast, as usual!  Unfortunately, since the weather was so bad they  weren't able to make it downtown to watch us cross the line, however,  told Quinton we had a medal waiting for him and boy did he think he was an Olympian.

Thanks for all the sweet notes and comments!  It's great to know you can put your mind to something and have so much support!  Love to all.

And we're off to the Race......

We'll were off, to enjoy some time with my parents and brother , eat some yummy St. Louis traditions and run the 1/2 Marathon. Aaron and I both are not feeling very good at all, sore throats, bad IT/knee problems and energy level not to par, not to mention there is supposed to be thunder storms Sunday morning during the race. Does this sound like fun?

Not so much to me...however, I put my mind to it, I was somewhat dedicated for the past 3 months during the early morning in the bitter cold and I am not letting myself down. I was hoping to finish in under 2 hours, so we'll see. Aaron committed to a similar time to everyone at work, even though I feel so bad, due to his current crazy schedule he hasn't been able to get in much training at all.

We'll be staying downtown for a nice pasta dinner, and some R and R as my parents have been so sweet to keep the kiddos! They plan to be there at the finish line cheering us on if the weather holds up............We'll keep ya posted!

Sullivan Easter Weekend!

It was a BUSY weekend!!! We went on another egg hunt ( a little muddy), then back to our cousins to dye eggs.....Sunday off to church, then to my favorite restaurant, Fairview Farms to eat 20 lbs of chicken, back to take a nap for 5 hours and finally ending the holiday with icing egg cookies.

A little cute Easter story..........

After we got back from all the festivities we planned to go on our own hunt outside....however, someone/something else must have gotten to our eggs before we did.  We questioned, was it some young kiddos?  our neighbors playing a joke on us?  was it the coons?  It's Easter who would do such a thing?   Qman's said, "Mom and Dad, I  know it was one of the squirrels and his brother!" Actually, we think he was right, after a little searching and a lot of laughing we found scratches on the eggs with all the candy gone.

We should have know, there are millions in our yard every day, why was Easter any different.....those stinkers!

Just a few firsts.....

Well Sloan has had not 1, not 2, but 3 bruises to her face this week...one under the eye, one over the eye and one in between her eyes on her nose.  I know there is more to come as her mobility continues to increase, but I guess I just hate to see our little girl with a black and blue face. Would you believe I didn't even get pics?  They truly just have been healing so quickly, that you wouldn't even be able to see it... I tell you these kids are so resilient

On another note, we are so proud of QMAN...he is zipping his own coat and dressing himself in the morning. I have to admit sometimes I am not so thrilled about the outfit he picks out, but then I remind myself, who cares....really?

Then we went on our first walk as a family in the new double stroller.  We had run a lot last summer when Sloan was really little by laying her down, but now it's pretty cool, both kids are upright and able to not miss the action.

I look forward to blogging many more firsts....it's fun!

An Eggceptional Weekend

We had a fun day with the Easter Bunny and an Egg Hunt.  Quinton was excited because his new girlfriend Riley is back from Australia this time... forever.  They have a great time together....as you can see they got a lot of eggs with treats and prizes in every last one!  Sloan enjoyed the scenery as well, but didn't know what to think about the Easter Bunny.  Before too long she'll be right there with her big bro!
