A bathroom company?

So I had always heard from Trac that we named Sloan after a bathroom company....and I promise we didn't mean too!!

It's true I witnessed myself, there I was in Chicago Intercontinental at a recent sales meeting. So this is what is running thru my head.....

This hotel is so chic, I love it and wish I could have all the money in the world to decorate like this, then I walk in the bathroom, so earth friendly and cool...I walk in the stall to use the restroom and what do I see staring in front of me....

SLOAN... I just had to giggle! I thought about our little cutie all day after I saw her name on the toilet.

Q's Body Works

"the insides"
"explaining how the brain works"
the final project of the "outsides"

Q has been working on a project at school to understand the "how" and the "why" our bodies are put together the way we are. The first adventure was to paint a life-sized version of his outsides. Before they began painting they examined their features in the mirror. Q noted his brown hair and grey green eyes. Also, during this time they have been talking about the 5 senses and what he likes and dislikes. We know he likes the taste of mac and cheese (he'd eat it everyday if we'd let him), he dislikes the smell of Sloan's poop......, he likes to have the movie, or the Wii up really really loud (so no problemo with hearing) and he even created his name in braille to understand how the blind absorb life around them.

Next, they constructed a working model of the insides. It is so cool! They talked about the message center with the brain and the nerves and then went on to the different bones and how they function. Lastly, the food and the breathing centers were added.

I just had to share because what a great learning experience for Q and so fun too! He continues to talk about specific parts of the body and their functions on random occasions. I am so proud of him and all of his learnings.

Q, cannot wait to see what's next? Beary bear???? To be continued....

St Pat's Day!

First and foremost, we have to thank Aunt Trac for the awesome shirts and bows she made....they' re soooooo cute and all the cousins looked pretty darling yesterday!

The day started out really foggy and just as the parade was ready to start it lifted!!!! Q was thrilled because this year we were asked to be "in" the parade on a Brewers Budweiser old fashion fire engine...2 kids under the age of 5 on a beer float? I thought, how often do they get to be "in" a float as a kid? Plus, there was no beer in sight so we were good to go!

Q had a blast spraying silly string, throwing the candy and just watching the entire crowd ( and I mean there was an overwhelming crowd) and Sloan was practicing the wave on mommy's lap. We felt lucky to participate and will have this memory for a long time to come. In fact, we have to participate our last name is Sullivan, right! Hope you had a lucky day too!

Slumber Party

We were so excited to be able to have our 1st official sleep over at Papa's this weekend. The night started off with us all making our own personal pizzas, and let me tell ya they were "our own". We then played a competitive game of soccer (adults verses the kids), hide and seek in pairs and some star wars (of course) ...... finally we ended the night with the movie Ice Age. The kiddos had a blast, were so well behaved (of course M and M always are) and they slept fairly well. The morning wake up was the best; I could hear them talking and giggling in a "kids whisper" for me to come in and see them cuddled all together talking about school, friends and and the what the adventure was going to be for the day. Their conversation was so sweet and priceless.

Well the party had to end with a little more sugar..... some sprinkled Shamrock cinnamon rolls and a little milk to wash um down!!!

I know they all will sleep well for the next few nights to come, all because of the fun sleepover at Papa's house. We plan to have many more slumber parties up in Chicago over the next few months or I should I say years!!!!

CC and DD

My parents were able to come to Morton to visit last week for the last time until we move up north. We had a great time just hanging out, especially on Saturday when the weather was awesome and we were able to play basketball, bike, swing and slide. Also we tried to eat at all the greasy spoons in town reminiscing times when I was a a child....Judy's was excellent and the Knights of Columbus fish fry was ok, needless to say we ended up going through the McD's drive thru on the way home! Not that good o fish!

CC and DD thanks for coming to see us, we love when you're with us because you spoil us rotten!

A crazy couple of weeks...

We've had a few busy weeks in Morton. Sloan decided to fall into the recliner chair and get a big old black eye. We felt so bad, because it just looked so bad yet, I think it looks worse than it felt. Everyone looks and her and "us" everywhere we go, "what happened?" and the explaination goes on. We felt so bad for her little eye, but it has started to cleared up very well already and next week you won't even know anything happened.

Then the big news was that the DQ had to open just when we moved to town. (Not really..) Therefore, every night we have been craving yummy blizzards and ice cream cones piled with sprinkles. We've made a few trips and plan to make a few more before we head out. Big news in this little town!

Papa and Jane decided to head west to Arizona for the month (we miss them already!) We were able to get everyone together for a pizza party and enjoy some crazy fun with kiddos singing and dancing all night!

Finally Quinton learned to roller skate. I was so proud of Q. This was his first time and he did awesome!!!! As we approached the rink, he watched closely all of the big kids and initially said, "the first time I fall we're outta here!" Well, that wasn't the case because he did fall and it didn't matter, he loved it. We all laughed so hard we cried. Q did very well and we look forward to many more adventures to the rink...next time with our cousins!
