Nightime Routine

I love putting the kiddos to bed. We definitely have our routine of taking baths, reading books, telling a story and saying our prayers. It truly is the best and could last up to about 2 hours if we would let it! It's when they are the cleanest and smell the best, when all the conversations about the day and night are revealed and when we can communicate how much we're thankful for....AMEN!

Last night, Qman decides that we're going to read not 2 or 3 books, more like 6... Sloan and I were ok with this, after seeing the length of each of them. In fact, he was on a theme of the seasons as we started with "The Haunted Halloween" book and ended with the "Best Christmas Star." I just had to laugh after he asked me if I had ever read any of these books in high school? What??? Where did he get the word high school? Does he think high school is all fun and games....like his preschool.... I guess he'll have to wait and see.

Anyway, in the midst of reading, he stopped and says, "Mom, look at Sloan, she hears what we are saying and she's smiling. " Then he starts tickling her feet and says, "I love you Sloany Bologne" with a big grin. My heart melted, and tears filled in my eyes....and then we finished our routine.

Sleeping thru the night???

Well, I had started a post back on Sept 11......saying little miss Sloan had slept thru the night for 3 nights in a row! Is this a trend? I guess, I wrote a bit too soon....Wow that WAS great! However, now, with my luck she is back to waking up for that 4 am feeding and I am due to go to my parents for a business trip this week, of course!!! Will my mom wake up and feed her? Well, I know she will, but does she want to? I know she is only 4.5 months old, I just feel bad.

So, Aaron and I sat over Mickey Mouse pancakes, eggs, and coffee this morning trying to decide what we did to get Qman to sleep thru the night? ...yeah, it was rice cereal we thought....didn't we also give him tons of Milk... breast milk, formula, 2%, skim.....just kidding! So we decided to try the cereal....she did great, she sucked that spoon so fast and was so excited, it was if she had been asking for it for so long and we just hadn't heard her. She acted like a pro, as if she had eaten before? (I have pics, and will post later) We are thrilled and are going to continue both at breakfast and dinner and see how she does.....keep your fingers crossed and please send any ideas our way!

We love you Sloany...... and know you can do anything you put your mind too!

A girlfriend(s) this early?

So we're driving home last night from the Pumpkin Fest and Quinton had been flirting with his darling little friend Sylvie and Aaron asks him, "Quinton, do you have a girlfriend?"He says, "yeah!" Daddy asks, "what's her name?", Quinton says, "Sloan," Daddy says, do you have any other girlfriends? Quinton says, "Mommy"....I about lost it....Daddy of course, was surprised, and asking one last time, "anyone else?" Yeah, Sylvie Boeker and Isabel from St Louis....I think I was laughing and crying at the same time. Pretty cute!

Pumpkin Fest

It's the annual Pumpkin Fest in Good Old Morton IL this week. I think I love it more than anyone in my fam. Aaron's says, "I guess we could go?" I said, "What, are you kidding me? Where's your Morton Pride? Just kidding honey!" We went last night for the opening along with everyone else in Peoria and the surrounding areas. The entire SULLIVAN family waited in long lines for the rides, while eating yummy pork chop sandwiches and hanging with our most favorite cousins ever. Unfortunately, the weather was a little yucky, however it was just clear enough to go to the parade and eat an awesome meal! Thanks so much Aunt Traci! We love to continue on our traditions, rain or shine!

First Day of School

Well, Our Big Boy had his first day of preschool today. He has 10 other 3 and 4 year olds in his class and his teacher's name is Mrs. Wilson. He absolutely loved it, in fact, he didn't even say bye to his own mom as he was excited to just meet his new friends and have freeplay with all the great toys. This school is pretty strict, if I must say so myself... $25 fine for picking your kid up late, child has to be potty trained before school starts, doors do NOT open until it starts at 9am and I mean they open no earlier than 8:59....I just have to laugh because I, not Quinton, got in trouble already...I opened the doors at 8:58, and she asked me to wait outside until 9....Are you kidding me? Can you believe WE were actually on time? I sure can't. I will work to be on my best behavior next time.

A Birthday that lasts 2 weeks!

Quinton had a great birthday weekend.. in fact, he has truly had about 2 weeks to celebrate.

I'll start with the St. Louis Trip: First we all went miniature golfing up the street from CC and DD's house, then we watched the MU Tigers beat the IL (Q and his dad were pretty excited, that was a gift in and of itself). The next dad we woke up and had a small party at Great Nana and Papa's Lake House, Uncle Brad was there so Qman was pumped..... He jumped off the dock all by himself and swam like a fish, of course, still drinking a little lake water. He also drove the boat and thought he was the coolest kid on the water. Overall, he had a blast and got tons of AWESOME presents.....A Portable Hoop and the CLAW Machine were a couple his favorites (Ok, because they're just like Chucky Cheese).

Now let's talk about the Peoria gatherings: He had his official birthday party on Sept 6 with all of his little friends and cousins at Rainbow Playset. He had a blast and you could tell just by the sweat that dripped from his hair. It was a sports theme, since he truly is obsessed with any sports and/or balls that he can kick, shoot or putt. We all ate a little fruit and cupcakes and then cleaned up (it was great not having it at the house). He got so many presents that we couldn't even fit them in the car. Everyone was so sweet and boy does everyone know what he likes... he got a pitching machine, some fun race car ramps, tons of books and board games, 2 remote control cars and so on.....! Can I say spoiled...? He then was was able to celebrate at Ms. Angie's Gymnastics with treats and all of his new friends at school sang him happy birthday and he was abke to bring in BATMAN fruit snacks................. boy is he growing up (too fast!)

Doctors Visit

Well, we had a yearly check up for QMan and he is weighing in at 34 lbs and 37 inches tall....and for Sloan she is growing like a weed also at 12.4 lbs and 22 inches long.... we are blessed to have healthy children (even though they both have been sick the past couple of days). That's all for now!
